Abstract  To improve the recognition accuracy of palmprint images with some rotations and translations, the improved iterative closest point(ICP) algorithm based on direction and nearest neighbor(DNN) is proposed to make registration for principal-line feature images, and the strategy combining coarse registration and fine registration is taken in the process of principal-lines feature image registration. The experimental results show that the proposed method has high computational efficiency and good ability to resist rotation and translation.
